Bank of Ceylon Issues Record Sustainability Bond for Green Recovery

The Bank of Ceylon (BOC) has successfully raised record capital through its latest Sustainability Bond issuance. The funds are strictly allocated for green lending, focusing on climate-resilient infrastructure and renewable energy projects required after the recent environmental fallout.

“This bond issuance allows us to lead the charge in rebuilding a greener Sri Lanka,” stated the BOC Chairman. The move aligns with global ESG standards and is expected to encourage other private banks to diversify their portfolios into sustainable instruments, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
